you know why the stock market is going up?

money printing. trillions of it. all welfare for the rich.
Are the recipients of that printed money investing it in the stock market? People buy Tesla stock, Space X stock, etc because they believe it'll increase in value because of the innovation taking place. Musk benefits from owning a lot of that stock. If the market crashes then so does much of his wealth. But he's evil in your eyes because he has a lot of money.

Nothing is free. If they charged $0 you would be paying for it other ways.
lets say im homeless and have nothing to pay. then i wouldnt pay would i? nothing saying i have to pay for it. but if you put a price on it to use it then its guaranteed youre going to pay for it.

Also, 3 years later and all he's got is pretending to not know the difference between market cap and initial investment? The public invested billions in Telsa, far more than Musk. It wasn't vested into shares because our government is corrupt and likes to give money to the rich.
You do realize that corporations get money to start and run businesses by offering stock for sale in what's known as an IPO(Initial Public Offering)? Once that stock is bought it's either held or sold on the public trading exchange called the stock market. All those shares traded every business day don't give Tesla money. The IPO did. That stock rises or lowers in value based on the company's performance. So Musk is very wealthy because he and his company have performed well. Some of that is public perception, some speculation, but overall he benefits by benefiting others through innovation. He's producing. What are you doing?

You mean someone else pays for it.
yea! someone....who has lots of money to afford these things.

or the govt just prints the money without taxing...

when you increase cost of business on labour, you make the economy uncompetitive bc it could raise cost of doing business. another country could out compete you by lowering cost of things like transport, healthcare, education, etc. this is how the west developed in part, but many countries like america dont follow this model anymore.

Where would anyone be if companies weren't invested in? The "public" isn't government and people either choose to invest in companies like Tesla or they put money in mutual funds, usually through 401k's, and the money is invested for them. We invest, they innovate, we benefit. Jobs, increased retirement accounts, products that make our lives better. See how that works? Or are you hung up on envying the innovative guy who gets rich doing so?

I know you do which is why I pointed out it's people investing in the stock, not the government. And your point about roads? Roads were built long before there were even cars. And there were cars long before there was Tesla. Climate change believers want electric cars. Guy gets rich giving them electric cars and they resent his wealth. You can't have it both ways but you sure try.

Jesus dude, market cap isn't what was invested. You put in like $70 million of the money you got from ripping people off with PayPal. The government put in half a billion. If you allowed that money to be vested into shares, they would OWN part of that market cap.
