at physio today, i was reading a magazine i dont necessarily trust and they were talking about the police force on native reserves. 1/4 of the officers are off duty for disability i believe and suffer PTSD. the situation on the reserves is described as "over policed, under protected" or something like that. they have inadequate facilities. they dont have enough cops so towns people ride with the police. the cops make 20% less than regular cops. the cops work on their days off. the median income is poverty where they police. the suicides in these towns are much higher.
we cut taxes so much on the rich and corporations that we live in an unjust society that cant decently fund programs. i know this is true for people who call EI / disability insurance, and some other govt functions.
if people dont turn on to politics the way kap, snowden, assange, manning did, then politics will continue to turn on us for the worse.

Native law agencies are notorious for being crooked. Around here all they do is hide out at the casino and get their cut. Meanwhile the reservation is overran with rapes, assaults, drugs and murders.
