Here's the difference between you and I. By your own admission you have stated more than once that you have not paid federal income taxes in quite some time,,,,, but still demand major cuts in federal spending.
I on the other hand pay both federal and state federal estimated taxes Every 13 weeks I have to fill out a voucher and stroke a check.....and I have been doing that for 31 consecutive years. Yet I say nothing. Because I am mature enough to realize that somebody has to economically support the key services that shape our society. Services that you're counting on to be there for you when the ravages of advancing age take it's toll on you as it does for all of us.

Social Security and Medicare are funded separately. I'm talking about hundreds of billions wasted annually, throwing huge sums at problems that are never fixed, overspending on defense, giving hundreds of billions to other countries but it's like pulling teeth getting a small town disaster cleaned up. You are happiest when the government is spending and you don't seem to discern between what's necessary and what is throwing money away.

But when the time comes if you haven't already will you not seek if nothing else old age benefits? Social Security and Medicare are insurance contracts. And those contributions that are made through FICA are the only retirement contributions that are federally insured. But then again I'm sure your bible and the Lord Jesus Christ will take care of you in a manner that will make it unnecessary for you to need to apply . I take your comment here as an admission on your part that what you said about not paying federal income taxes for a number of years to be correct. Oh and by the way, in the aftermath of a 25% cut in FEMA funding that small town disaster is guaranteed to never be cleaned up.

Now here I am I'll be 70 this summer and I'm still paying state and federal income taxes and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. You think the Federal government only exists on income taxes? Do you think how they spend the money doesn't impact everyone? Do you not believe in good stewardship? And it's not just how they spend the money but their policies that impact everyone's lives. As citizens we all have the right to voice our opinions. You for some reason think that your opinion counts for more because you pay more in taxes. Your opinion only matters in who you support and how their policies affect all of us. Get over yourself.
Obviously you haven't heard of something called a "performance audit". And since you've never heard of it you don't know that all federal agencies are subjected to them.
So let me tell what a performance audit is. It is an audit that uses long standing performance standards to determine if that agency is using it's budget and it's workforce in a manner that is in keeping with those long established professional standards Standards that are used in both the public and private sectors and they are high.
And in light of the fact that you are the self appointed keeper of the public treasury despite having freely admitted that you haven't paid in anything in a long time the existence of performance audits should give you some relief.
And as far as the East Palestine Ohio wreck....What's so special about that one? Norfolk Southern had two more train wrecks the following week.
When that Shaw guy who runs NS came in he completely revised train operations. He had trains running almost 24/7 and of course Wall Street was kissing his shoes. But he wasn't fooling people who actually know how trains work. They knew better and warned him that in his so called modern way to run a railroad all he did was that he had extended equipment maintenance and repair intervals to dangerously long periods and it would catch up with him eventually and it did.
I saw today in the news that the Pa legislature is performing some rectal reconstruction on Mr. Shaw. Being a self appointed corporate apologist I'm sure you want everyone to feel sorry for him.....but he brought this on himself and needlessly on the people of East Palestine Ohio.
