I was informed today by a manager that the weekly minimum guarantee is no more, effective January 1. That means no more 35 hour weekly guarantee for full timers or 17.5 hours for part timers.

My question is... Is this also going on at your station? I'm trying to find out if it's just my district pulling this, because the policy dated October 2016 says nothing about the change. Supposedly, it's in writing somewhere and I have to wait to Monday to see it in black and white (manager was too busy to print it for me).

Please, save the politics, Fred bashing, etc for another thread. Thank you.

Not at my station...yet. But I'm at a ramp.

It hasn't happened here yet, though they are trying to curb how much minimum pay they give. (So the guys who run to get done in 6 hours everyday are magically finding themselves with 2 more hours of work)

Part of me is wondering if their trying to keep this quiet prior to SFA
Ding! ding! ding! .... I'm going along with this scenario.

I've heard nothing about it at my ramp yet, but it just sounds so 21st century FedEx, does it not? In fact the only thing that would surprise me is that it's taken this long.

Used to be 37.5 hours up here. Then they changed it to 35. Wouldn't be surprised if that became 30 hours in the future.
I think in the States most States consider 30 hrs fulltime. With Amazon looking to deliver it's own eventually a lot of rts are going to take a hit on hours.

Ground cannibalized Express and now Amazon is building a hub in Cincinnati. Going to be tough to make a living for many.

Not happening. Someone's trying to pull something. The only way this will/should happen is if you waive the minimums. They will never be able to staff the Memphis hub, get handlers or part timers in your station if they are told 'You'll only be working 2-2.5 hours each day'.
That's lame.
Why? If the work isn't there and they send you home or you only get 40 P2 and finish at 1200, you should be paid a set minimum hours.
Ohhhhh. I can't wait til SFA. Should be very interesting. I'm sure the numbers will go way down.
So, you'll hammer your manager for something that's out of his control?

I think this is why we've had so much late freight lately. Staffing issues. A friend in TX has had late freight every day for weeks. Obviously, there can't be mechanical issues every day. The manager DID tell me though that the ramp near us still has the weekly minimums. He said maybe because they're AGFS.
