Saturday Sheet Show

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
And in return for these major concessions we get??? No full time employees would vote for this. No way even our WEAK union would present this to be voted on. I know give us a $1000 bonus and we'll all vote yes. You are just a smidge wrong.
You'd have to add another 0 at the end before I wouldn't just laugh and check no immediatly.

A lot of FT employees would vote yes because it would not effect them. They already got theirs.

Was our first Saturday.. I didn't work it, but I heard it was a cluster. They called people in early Monday to take off packages that are on half loaded car to re SPA them. Had so much volume and now 40% less people.. Over time city for part time. Entire week seems screwed up no also. Lots of overtime, every supervisor, manager, DPS, so on working. Can't hire enough people, they just walk out, LOL.

We can't keep people here either. There are so many new people in our building for like a week and then here comes a new set. I worry for our future as a company if we can't keep people.

It's becoming a problem everywhere apparently. 42 call outs on our pre load this morning, LMAO. Hired four drivers in May, only one left. Two new ones in this week. Sometimes, I guess a low unemployment rate isn't such a good thing. Seems people can pick and choose now what they wanna do.

I work in a building with 200 routes...I have been there a long time...I know most of the guys there...how they operate out in the street....there are some guys who are absolute runners who are an hour over on routes .... there are other drivers who are gunners who are lunch skippers who are 1 hour bonus guys.....VERY FEW DRIVERS WHO ARE DECENT, EFFICIENT ENOUGH, SMOOTH METHODS ARE EVEN CLOSE TO RUNNING SCRATCH.....THEY ARE OVER. If anyone here thinks these numbers are fair need their head checked....so it brings me back to my original point....upstate is a gamer...if he is running an hour under he either has good allowance or is gaming somewhere...
Amen. In 25 years our center has seen 2 time studies, 1 in person and 1 virtual. In both cases there were huge allowance gains. From 45 minutes to 2 & 1/2 hours.

After implementation every driver was at least 30 minutes under the line.

And then within 3 months, we were right back where we started. The company controls the allowances and that is why the contract states a fair days work for a fair days pay.

We all know allowances are a hammer management uses to force maximum effort.

Then there would be no need for lock in SPHOR rides or constant intimidation if these allowances were open and verifiable to all parties.

Never had that problem when UPS paid Union wages to PTers instead of minimum wages. Used to be one of the best PT jobs you could hope to get.
