So about that part time wage increase

And when these 13/hr new hires continue to make this "attendance bonus" that no one else has access to? Out-earning many tenured part-timers as-is. This isn't talked about but it is wrong.

I would think that they are going to stop paying the bonus with the starting wage increase.

So the reality is new union people are taking a pay cut as this bonus puts them at 15/hour. This is not enough to staff properly. supervisors work nearly daily for years on end due to improper staffing. how long will it be before new hires make 13 plus the attendance bonus? tenured part timers need to lead the charge in downvoting this bad deal. too many are already making less than their coworkers who are receiving this under the table deal.

Gahdamn imagine if UPS was normally paying $30 an hour to work in the hub? We would have thousands applying for a handful of jobs, could get way more work and effort out of their employees if they did this.

My idiot HR guy would still hire his buddy who just got out of jail.

But yes, it's amazing how much money the company can save just by having good people, with more experience paid more, who reduce damages and missorts and late loads and a million other very expensive things to UPS.

Nobody would want to go out driving.

That would be a real shame.

And yes, 37/hr for 8-10 hours would still be attractive to a lot of guys over 30/hr for 3-4 hours. If we had better people walking through the door that this kind of wage would attract, I don't think it would be a problem.

If they increase the starting wage to 15.50 and you've accumulated 6 dollars in GWI you should make 21.50. Doesn't that make sense?
To what end? Should the part-timers who have been here forever and are making over $30 also get a $3 raise or just people at your wage level? Because no matter where you cut it off someone is going to be mad.

I think your current pay should reflect if you had started at the new actual part time rate.

However you can use your seniority to sign for the higher paying job. You are not a victim if you don’t help yourself.

The only higher paying jobs at my (smaller) center are driving jobs, and I can't pass the DOT physical due to a birth defect. So how exactly do I help myself in this situation?
