Some NBA Teams To Strike?

Given today's work stoppages in what is left of professional sports, could all unions soon call for a national work stoppage?

Does the language of our contract allow us to honor such a general strike?

More importantly, if it is a choice, will you participate?

Hopefully, professional sports will just go away. It's been established they aren't relevant nor are the players opinions relevant. Nor is Black Lives Matter. Hopefully the protesters will either kill each other or be dealt with by the authorities or we'll just settle it in a civil war.

Hopefully any of our employees that participate will lose their jobs permanently.

It should be no play = no pay.

See how long they are willing to go without paychecks,

There is no contractual provision to strike for perceived "social justice" issues.

Section 1. Picket Line

"It shall not be a violation of this Agreement and it shall not be cause for discharge or disciplinary action (including but not limited to the temporary or permanent replacement of any employee) in the event an employee refuses to enter upon any property involved in a primary labor dispute, or refuses to go through or work behind any primary picket line, including the primary picket line of Unions party to this Agreement, and including primary picket lines at the Employer’s place of business, and the Employer shall not direct any employee to cross a primary picket line."

Not unless authorized by the IBT.
