State of Emergency in Virginia

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
Didn't listen to my news podcasts last night, got caught up listening to the police scanner then finished up the 4th game of thrones audiobook.
Gotcha. I'm
In Missouri so hard for me to miss. Been plastered on the front page of every newspaper at every gas station I've delivered to today.

I hadn't heard it either.
I pretty much got tired of the silliness on all the network news agencies including Fox, around March or April.
I have been looking for a neutral source (DIDO sent me a few that were left leaning) but haven't found it yet.
I try to interpolate between BBC America, PBN and OAN now.
Al Jezeera was the best but Uverse quit carrying them.
It is such a shame that one can't find a real news channel/source in the USA when it comes to politics.
They are all on the fringes.

OH ... OK.

Those are the worst ... that's where Hannity came from.
I hated those shows when I was trying to get traffic updates on the way home from work.
I haven't listened to Radio (AM or FM) since I retired 4 1/2 yrs ago.
I used to listen to Lars Larson for laughs years ago but the advertisements for investing in gold got too annoying.

Never heard of him period.
I'm going to listen to music anytime before I listen to talk radio.
I had a 10 disc MP3/CD player from 2003 - 2009 that would not repeat for about 4 weeks (mp3).
Since 2009, I've used USB flash drives.
My wife and I took a 2 week trip up through the East Coast to CT and back and we didn't get halfway through the flash drive.
Now I'm hooked on Sirius ... they got a JAM channel and a Grateful Dead channel. Don't need anything else.

Takes some gonads to take a stand on this. Good for them.

“Protecting free speech is not something we do because we agree with all of the speech that gets protected,” Electronic Frontier Foundation wrote.
Certainly worth talking about.
I think tech companies that provide a service, like airbnb, dating websites, uber, spotify, etc have a right to protect their brand and block speech they find to be against what their company stands for.

However, when it comes to service providers who provide a means to access information.... google, go daddy, cloudfare, etc, it becomes an issue of freedom of speech. It's an interesting topic.

Condoleezza Rice blasts efforts to ‘sanitize history’ by removing historic monuments

"Rather than try to shield future generations from the flaws of our nation’s founders and former leaders, that such monuments should serve as a reminder of progress that has been made."

“I am a firm believer in ‘Keep your history before you,’” Rice responded. “I don’t actually want to rename things that were named for slave owners. I want us to have to look at those names and recognize what they did, and be able to tell our kids what they did and for them to be able to have a sense of their own history.”

“When you start wiping out your history, sanitizing your history to make you feel better, it’s a bad thing,” she added.
