Why are sups allowed to scan for misloads. Isint that technically work that could be done by the union?

Our lil hub has PT temp sup work, where they continually rehire every 6-9 months. They do bulk sheets, scan packages, find out of sync, etc...they never actually move the package, except to see the label.

Doubt a grievance would go anywhere.

In RTW states you are a freerider and receive a seniority date + most (if not all) of the perks bargained by the union, including grievances.

Every Center is different. Our BA says if there is a new hire, sups can work anywhere in the work area, not even right beside the new hire. can be 3 cars down the line.
So, the triple pay in the new contract will never happen if starting wage is less than $15. We can't hire enough to keep up with the ones quitting.

If that was the case I'd be filing grievances against all of the drivers who are mean to me.

If an hourly scans to prevent misloads, they cannot count them as misloads.

If mgmt scans and finds misloads, they can count them as a misload and technically write you up.

But we never allow them to do write ups if hourlies are doing the checks
