you very well could be correct!! we will find out in the end I just see a mess in the future, for the ones that just left miss out like me even tho it's not offered to mechanics, Drivers that wait and get even a bigger amount than the ones that accepted the first offer prior will miss out. Also only doing it on local needs I hear where drivers with 40 years gets turned down and the other building in nearby different local guy has example 30 years gets the buy out. What if driver bid a inside job last year after 35 years of service? I see a huge mess nothing negotiated and lots of legal issues for UPS

I don't think anyone will get turned down. They may just have to wait until the second separation date starting in February.

Well, I never said I thought it was a good idea. I just don’t know that it can be stopped.

we have two centers in my local and another center its own local- them 2 centers borrow our drivers continuously due to they are so short staffed. This we will see, I bet they don't offer drivers to leave when they cant keep enough drivers

UPS is short staffed most places. They don't want to hire anyone yet because of the Amazon reduction. But, when Amazon volume tanks, the short staffing will not be an issue.

Yes. For those not approved because of seniority, they most likely will be approved for a February 1 to March 31 second separation date.
so areas where they can not find drivers to deliver they are going to keep buying them out???? Some area people do not want the job. We had this for maybe 5 years in feeders. We used another locals driver to cover. A guy signed the bid now wants out ASAP No one wants to work in some areas. This will be at their discretion so full time isn't bumping back to part time, Maybe be a new monthly thing center to center. Whoknows crazy times.

They told me my last day would be Aug. 31st. I guess everyone gets different dates based on their location.
crazy how they know the end date unless you are a huge center over staffed? what if 30 applied after you?
