So you are in favor of more government handouts? Socialism?Households Burn Through What’s Left of Their Pandemic Savings
The combination of high prices and the end of pandemic relief programs is eating into household savings.www.wsj.com
No, less. All those government stimulus handouts helped fuel inflation. Inflation probably ate more or their money than what they received by now.So you are in favor of more government handouts? Socialism?
Well Wally, you seemed to suggest from the article you linked, that people were better off with socialism, direct payments. That’s what the article you linked to said. I’m a WSJ subscriber, so I actually read the whole article, not just the headline. No, less. All those government stimulus handouts helped fuel inflation. Sink or swim.

I’m guessing your solution is to let people fail.
I’m in favor giving as much to individuals as we do to corporations.
Free, free, freeThe downfall of America
It's a different world with my friendFree, free, free
It will only cost you everything
People will have the same values when it comes to work as they used toHelping people, instead of corporations, makes everyone safer and better off. It would eliminate crime.
What is the problem with an educated, healthy population?
If people need food, feed them. Is this not the Christianity most of you say you believe in?
I pay as much in taxes (as a retired RPCD) as most of you make a year. I don't complain about my taxes. I benefit from the taxes I pay.
Invest wisely, don't be selfish. Help those who need help.
Christianity, right?
If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day.Well Wally, you seemed to suggest from the article you linked, that people were better off with socialism, direct payments. That’s what the article you linked to said. I’m a WSJ subscriber, so I actually read the whole article, not just the headline.

That’s silly Van why would the government do that? It’s much better for them to trap people in endless cycle of low expectations, red tape, and poverty, which is what government handouts get you. Just like Nancy Pelosi said she feeds the people. If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day.
If you create an environment his company can succeed in you feed him and his family for life.
What is a man's top value? Is Elon worth more per hour than a life saving doctor? Than a Chinese balloon scientist?People will have the same values when it comes to work as they used to
I don’t know what each of those people are worth, but I do know jealousy and envy, are very unflattering. What is a man's top value? Is Elon worth more per hour than a life saving doctor? Than a Chinese balloon scientist?
What's an RPCD worth, including benefits?
Everything has a price. It's what you are getting for that price.
Does that NOT apply to your recent surgery and the circumstances surrounding it?"You've never seen someone else's dollar you didn't want to spend."

Sir, no one is forcing you to enroll in any government social program that you might be opposed to. No one is forcing you to enroll in the current system by which healthcare providers are paid. That's perfectly fine But, whatever your future healthcare needs might be from checkups to prescriptions to major surgery or long term skilled nursing home.... you will have to find a way to pay for those services yourself.Funny, I point out to him that he is all for government control, and being their servants, and then he tells me the government considers us dogs with tails between our legs. He’s a self perpetuating prognosticator. Talking points galore.

Nope but nice try. Would apply to you wanting to give college grads with good jobs half a trillion in student loan relief.Does that NOT apply to your recent surgery and the circumstances surrounding it?
Are you saying that the free healthcare that you received is something you were entitled to? if so then what standard are you basing it on?Sir they confiscate money out of my check every week
What you claim is being "confiscated" is what is PREPAYING your future healthcare and retirement expenses. As we discussed earlier Ryan tried to get the country off Medicare with his stipend plan but the insurance companies balked by being unwilling to accept the risks involved and the stipend would not cover those risks A few years earlier Bush wanted to get rid of Social Security but the banks wouldn't go along with it and with good reason. People would treat the new savings accounts like any other account with constant withdrawal leaving small balances which would require the banks to charge service account fees that would likely be of a high percentage given the low balances.Sir they confiscate money out of my check every week
