I always verify their stuff though ... sometimes I feel like I'm reading The Onion.

The only people I know that watch the nightly news are well over 65.
thank god. unfortunately i just discovered a good friend of mine watches msnbc...its wierd his dad is a judge and hes smart and he knows some stuff about politics

There is nothing wrong with watching MSNBC if you accept them as only offering their opinions.
there is because msnbc funnels voters back into the democratic party and to be precise the establishment. GE who owns msnbc is a major war profiteer and they canceled keith olberman's show i believe because he was anti iraq war. on top of that, msnbc stopped dennis kucinich from getting into the 2008 debates which is another example of them preserving the establishment. they also dont have any of the famous intellectuals on like cornel west, or noam chomsky, and perhaps chris hedges belongs there too.
but aside from that, its the wrong business model for good news. im unaware of any reputable news source which does corporate ads.
