The scary part of all this is 46% voted yes. Who are these people? Sure wasn't the part timers who got screwed yet again.
They put a lot of good things in the contract to get certain groups of people to vote Yes.The scary part of all this is 46% voted yes. Who are these people? Sure wasn't the part timers who got screwed yet again.

Many places was offered better retirement money, some people was actually excited about the 22.4 jobs, giving them a chance at full time. All the drivers currently in progression was going to receive a $2-4 pay increase.. yes I know they wanted a $15 starting wage but if you are currently making $10, $13 is a nice jump. Many drivers also liked the automatic 9.5. list. What u talkin bout gumby?

That's what they was banking on. Nut if you was a year away from retirement and they offered you a raise in your pension, what would you do?Agree. Short term gains for a lot of little groups, and selling out on the important points.
You can't fix stupid.
Several hundred dollars a month extra on a pension is not a short term gain. I would not say Feeders or employees getting ready to retire during this contract is a lot of little groups. Now with all the old guys out of the way, next contract you can make it about you.Agree. Short term gains for a lot of little groups, and selling out on the important points.

So you are saying that more people got Something in this contract than they did in 97?They put a lot of good things in the contract to get certain groups of people to vote Yes.

But all supplements were only determined by only themselves passing and not by the master....correct?Correct. But they sweetened the offer in certain supplements to get the Yes votes.
The negotiators have a good idea of who will most likely vote which is why Feeders got more jobs and a large mileage run increase, delivery drivers got 22.4 jobs and PT got $13/hr.Correct. But they sweetened the offer in certain supplements to get the Yes votes.
