Train hits Semitrailer in Utah

Hope this is okay to post here. A train took out a Fed-EX trailer. Like my husband said, you always clear the tracks just like you do a road. Good news is the driver lived.

That looks like a lawsuit in the making. The RR is lucky the truck driver lived.

The worst part about that video is it took the officer 50 seconds to get out of his car and he didn't even go up to the driver who just got hit by a train, he just walked around! WTH cop?!

Totally agree. I know I stop an look before I cross a x 'ing. Even in my personnel vehicles

I'll bet there is a ground hub very close by those tracks.

If you watch it closely it looks like the driver stopped before trying to cross. Watch the car that crossed before him. Loss of traction maybe yet got to committed to crossing?

The commuter train was in" push mode" ,the locomotive is in back and engineer right up against the front pass. car controlling the train like an old school tractor. U know he got hurt bad!

Could be a "NO NOISE" crossing. They are allowed IF whom ever requests it (usually a city) will accept TOTAL responsibility. My town was pressured by the citizens to stop the train whistles after10:00 p.m. but backed off when they read all the fine print the RR wanted them to sign.

Some places have deals with railroads where they don't blow their horns in residential areas. I did a little dance when they enacted it by my old apartment.
