UPS STRIKE IN AUG?

Get out of the Obama Kool-aid book and read some articles about insurance cost nationwide since Obama Care came to be. 30% or more in premium increases is not unusual. Union contracts made UPS eat many of those cost.
UPS is doing just fine. And Fedex would be too if they didn't pass so much of those costs to the employees.

Fedex is self insured. Anthem, Cigna, and Kaiser only administer the plans. FedEx sets the premiums, deductibles, and max out of pocket because they pay the claims not the administrator. UPS has not changed their health insurance this drastically and they are under the same ACA oversight.
Still regulated by by state insurance commissions who set standards. FedEx can't do whatever it wants.

ACA sets the minimum standards. Does not limit what a company offers above that min. Ttku
Look at SmithBarney's post above. FedEx is offering what other companies are getting through Cigna. You're lucky you get a group discount. A lot of people got hammered by the ACA. And each state has an insurance commission that regulates what companies can and can't do, including the self insured. Sure, insurance is crap these days. But I've worked with people who ran to the doctor all the time when we had an annual $100 deductible. The company has how many employees? It has to protect itself from out of control medical expenses.

You're own health might be better if you ran to the doctor all the time. Think about it.

Yup, it’s a damn shame all the people with pre-existing conditions can get coverage now. We should just kill the losers with cancer so insurance premiums can be cheaper.
What about making the premiums so high people can't afford the premiums and when they can't afford the premiums, they pay a penalty. You conveniently left that detail out.

Yes, I remember the days when those with cancer were denied medical care and left by the roadside to die. Come on, stop playing the boogie man.

It will be fine

Yes that happened, there used to be lifetime caps for coverage. Insurance would hit the cap and stop paying for drugs and treatment. People died to avoid the financial burden on their families. People avoided going to the doctor in the first place because of the cost and when they did it was too late. Don’t worry, Trump fixed it by sabotaging the market and increasing premiums for everyone, problem solved.

They were way up before Trump came along.

Yup and he made them worse, that’s not even debatable. He eliminated the individual mandate and eliminated cost sharing payments to the insurance companies. Both policies increase premiums for the rest of us and we get nothing in return, and fewer people are insured. MAGA!

The thread topic is Ups Strike In August.....right?

:crying:

Yup.

This is the Fedex Discussion forum, so anything goes with only about 10 people posting on a regular basis.

5 or so of the 10 hijack most every thread and beat up on each other.

Eventually posts have nothing to do with the topic, resulting in the OP just going away.
