What Is The Teamsters Official Position On Socialized Medicine?

So our union endorsed this guy. They must feel paying more is good for its membership? Same with taxing fossil fuel, ending energy production, and allowing unlimited immigration?

I don't know what they were thinking..as an example "Team Care" is exploding with negotiated monetary increases, apparently they are reducing costs and adding new members daily...Under the Trump Administration...why risk it with the possibility of Universal Governmental controlled Health Coverage. If these guys do get into office you know that the Company will start balking at paying for our private health coverages. Remember what they did back in 2013 when they thought Obama Care would raise our premiums, they got out of covering their Union Employees, it bite them in the ass when they discovered that the costs for Health and Welfare coverages did not go through the roof as expected. Now they are currently stuck with paying over 25,000 annually for every Union employee, you don't think they will try to save money by forcing some of our members to buy into this "Medicare for All" (Part Timers and retirees be aware)...You will be the first to be sold down the tubes..Study the History...

Anybody think about retiring soon better vote your future, especially if you plan on leaving in your 50's...Any drastic changes for the worst with Health and Welfare costs they will be the first ones that will have to pay more for their coverages till age 65 and there will nothing that you can do about it... Nothing is guaranteed with your premiums and co pays, if a Health Provider starts to lose money they can legally charge you more for your coverages annually... so plan accordingly to whoever gets into power....Any hint of a Biden/Harris victory you will see it in the Markets and therefore in your 401k's and Pensions..Watch just how many people start bailing out of those plans...That will be a fact...Even these so called liberal millionaires are looking at loopholes to protect their assets, go on and be the stupid ones and vote accordingly...You all can not be that naive or born yesterday to think that a Democratic victory will produce harmonic bliss, the virus will magically disappear, there will be no more racial hate or violence in the US, everybody's health needs will be taking care of by the best professionals out there and you will be totally safe walking at night in these major cities without additional law enforcement people on the street....Common Sense People...1 + 1 = 2....

The Democrats don't really care a rats arse about the union vote, and why should they, leadership support is a given no matter how bad membership gets shafted.

As much as I love that meme, as a millenial I completely agree w him. The dems only have one objective: retain power for themselves. If they're able to talk stupid dreamers into believing socialism will benefit them, or even full blown communism, they will do it. It's obvious to anyone paying attention these days which is why they will all be booted out here shortly
This is the Fox News take, and you have it backwards. The democratic base want more socialist policies, the Pelosis of the world want to keep selling out to corporations while pretending to care about minorities by throwing cops under the bus and kneeling wearing African clothes.

Bernie was well on his way to winning the nomination until Obama and the DNC convinced all other candidates to basically jump him.

That is the CNN take, and you have it backwards. The democratic base wants moderate policies, their leadership has been taken over by their far left wing, and it is reflected in Joe Biden's platform if people would take the time to read it.

I’ll grant you this; the progressive movement has not done enough to distinguish themselves from radical BLM/Antifa. Establishment dems love peddling the woke identity politics because it doesn’t require going against the donor class. That’s why they’ll jump right into empty gestures like kneeling and putting their fists up. Bernie was much more popular in 2016 when he rejected identity politics and focused on economic class.

I’m and independent, not a dem, but many like myself are blue collar union workers with traditional values that just want to see the Democratic Party return to being the party of FDR, not the party of Bill Clinton and the Third Way. Silent majority, if you will...not the suburban wine moms that put BLM signs in their front yard.

Geez man, you've brought up the green new deal, military spending, wokeness, marijuana legalization, black lives matter, class warfare, political donations.....

I get it, you're a jilted Bernie Bro.

On topic though, a Medicare option for all does not benefit teamsters, will almost certainly raise our taxes, and very possibly will bring down our quality of care. That's not even to mention his radical plans like tax payer funded gender choice affirmation and repealing the Hyde Amendment that many of us simply cannot support.

I never planned on voting for Biden.

I was at least as happy with my Medicaid plan as I am with our Cadillac health insurance. I hope private insurance is banned with a provision that contracts be renegotiated and the savings passed on to us in the form of increased wages or other bennies.

Your new taxes will be more than any raise. Dental becomes out of pocket too. Enjoy.

Bernie's plan was made clear. Unions would have to renegotiate. Savings would go to wage and benefits. Why would dental benefits be involved? It's not like it's part of a triple play bundle or something.

I've never understood why medical and dental were separate anyway, dental is just medical care for your teeth. It should all be part of the same plan.

Most countries with the glorious socialized health care include basic dental, if you can find one. The government limits their hours so often they run out of hours early in the year.

That's simply not true for adults in comparable countries.

At least in his scenario there’s a union negotiating that for you, unlike the republicans’ wet dream of economic libertarianism where you might just maybe if you’re a good bootlicker have a few crumbs trickle down to you
