Where has common decency gone?

I am watching the Today show and just saw this video. What is wrong with us?

Youth Hockey Coach Trips Player During Handshakes - ESPN Video - ESPN
Good question.
Decency...what is it?

I notice a decline in simple decency followed by the words thank you.

My husband and I came across a woman struggling to exit her car at a grocery store.
She was parked in a handicap space.
We were an aisle away and still quite a distance from her...
I picked up my pace and moved toward her and my husband had no choice but to follow me.
She was still struggling.
I made it to her and asked if she needed help.
She said yes.

My husband pushed me aside and helped her out of the car.
We provided an escort into the store to the mobility rider...

Extreme example, yeah.
I am hyper-aware because of my MS.

It is the loss of simpler acts of decency or kindness which trouble me.

Opening a door and holding it for two seconds longer for the person walking behind you.

Plain and simple. If the parents ( I won't give them the respect of calling them mom and dad) don't take that little mound of clay that is a baby and mold it into a respectful, courteous, decent human being then it will never be one as an adult and will create itself in it's offspring to continue the process.
It can't be corrected with rules or laws.

Unfortunately we live in a very self-centered society.

It is unfortunate.

We have fans getting beat to a pulp at sporting events in front of their children.
(I wonder how that man is doing.)

We have $$$$ jocks calling out rude fans.

I am not and I will not allow this crap to occur around me.
I am lucky, now, because I can get away with acting to better the situation or call out the offender.

I am scared, someday, it maybe me shoved by a rude person in line or called out because I am slow due to my invisible illness.
Actually, this really scares me because I won't have someone like me around to call out the bully and help...
