Gotta be tough to live on the coast.I mean, I like Florida too but I don't like the idea of having to flee the state every couple years in hurricane season.
We don't leave for Cat 1 or 2.
3? Bye Bye

Probably a different story if you're on medicare, I'm not yet.Interesting, I may stand corrected on that.
Two more days for me and I'm on medicare.Probably a different story if you're on medicare, I'm not yet.
No clue what you're talking about? I was responding to Jones, not you.Two more days for me and I'm on medicare.
And...I still dontcare
Hey thanks. No clue what you're talking about? I was responding to Jones, not you.
I like both . Spending time in AZ in January. My brother has a second house in Tucson . The wife will not leave NJ. Trying to persuade her into the snowbird thing. Our grandchildren live a mile away from ACY and Sprit has cheap flights to and from Fla. all the time. I promised her we would fly up anytime she wanted Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas etc.Same here, I like AZ but the missus likes Florida.
I am moving in with you or @IVE GOTTA PACKAGE 4USince I will be retiring soon I was wondering how many of you stayed where you're at or moved to your dream state (or country) after retirement. I do like my home state, but I'd like a different change of scenery.
So where is your destination? Did you make your dream reality?
That’s probably the best I can hope for, split time. Just spend at least 6 months and 1 day in either Fla or Az to get the tax breaksI like both . Spending time in AZ in January. I'm sure. But my understanding at least from what I've read is that in a lot of the countries that are popular with US retirees health care is both excellent and inexpensive enough that it's not a big deal.Probably a different story if you're on medicare, I'm not yet.
Quack doctors?I'm sure. But my understanding at least from what I've read is that in a lot of the countries that are popular with US retirees health care is both excellent and inexpensive enough that it's not a big deal.
You can find those anywhere.Quack doctors?
I don’t know if I would feel comfortable in another country. Not nearly the rights we’ve grown up with. Say the wrong thing and end up in jail. No bill of rights. No thanksYou can find those anywhere.
I don't think you get it if you're not a citizen? e.g. I was reading New Zealand's requirements. It's probably different in countries like Costa Rica though. Honestly, I'm not very knowledgeable yet about all this, but I'll have time to research now.I'm sure. Don’t move to New Zealand. They’re not big fans of Americans. My sister lived there for two years and got tired of being treated like a second class citizen. And she was surprised at how Socialist they are.I don't think you get it if you're not a citizen? e.g. I was reading New Zealand's requirements. You’re a young thing. You probably have about 15 years to go.Plan is AZ but that can change easily. We own a small place out there right now but looking to upgrade and have someone else pay it off before we retire.
We've talking about also having a small place like in MT to go to for summers. Really wish I was able to retire right now. House has went up 300k in a little over a year. Would be nice to sell it and move but no can do.
How can someone survive without a basement? Where do you put all your ?Especially since there are no basements here .
Everybody is on pylons.
