Colorado UPS driver delivers wish for boy with disability – ABC10

Driver Dave Weingardt can’t remember his first UPS delivery — he’s done thousands in his 31-year career — but he will remember the last delivery he made, one of happiness for a boy he met while driving his UPS truck.

“I’m a swing driver. That means doing different routes,” Weingardt said. “That’s how I met Caleb, was swing driving out in his area in Franktown.”

Caleb is a teenager who absolutely loves it when the UPS truck shows up.

“He was born with a congenital brain defect,” Caleb’s mother, Nichole Lambert, said. “It causes his intellectual disabilities and severe seizures.”

Weingardt knew it well. His son, Kaymen, had a similar condition.

New UPS facility celebrates ribbon-cutting ceremony – KCRG

The new 53,800 square-foot UPS facility at the Eastern Iowa Airport celebrated its completion.

The project, which broke ground in 2019, was completed on time and on budget. The project was funded from Federal and State grants, as well as, through the airport commission.

“When you see businesses and the government work hand-in-hand, that’s what we’re all trying to do is move things forward. It’s been a great partnership,” said Steve Kenneke, Vice President of UPS Central Zone Air Operations.

The new facility will employ about 100 employees and will allow UPS to continue to grow its operations in Iowa.

Are United Parcel Service, Inc. (NYSE:UPS) Investors Paying Above The Intrinsic Value? – Simply Wall St

Today we will run through one way of estimating the intrinsic value of United Parcel Service, Inc. by taking the forecast future cash flows of the company and discounting them back to today’s value. The Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) model is the tool we will apply to do this. Before you think you won’t be able to understand it, just read on! It’s actually much less complex than you’d imagine.

We generally believe that a company’s value is the present value of all of the cash it will generate in the future. However, a DCF is just one valuation metric among many, and it is not without flaws. Anyone interested in learning a bit more about intrinsic value should have a read of the Simply Wall St analysis model.

A UPSer, rugby coach and ally – UPS

Leadership on and off the pitch in Ireland

For Shane Dunne, rugby is a lifelong passion. After decades as a player and coach, he stepped in at the helm of the Emerald Warriors RFC – a team that not only plays competitively at home and abroad, but also creates an affirming and inclusive space for LGBTQ players and spectators. The club is represented by 85% players who identify as gay.

Shane has been with UPS for eight years – starting as a package car driver in Dublin and working his way through different roles in sales and operations to become an operations manager.

He also trains the Emerald Warriors Club’s first and second teams three times a week and leads them during their weekend matches. Shane’s coaching was not only a chance to lend his experience to a local rugby team, but also an opportunity to develop as an ally.
