UPS increases bonus pay for package handlers during holiday season – WDRB

If you are looking to make some extra cash this holiday season, UPS wants to hear from you.

The carrier is looking to hire 1,000 people to fill seasonal holiday jobs. And there’s even more incentive: UPS has increased the bonus for package handlers working daytime shifts at both the Worldport and Centennial ground hub.

Those workers will get an extra $300 per week through Jan. 9.

FBI Investigating Armed Robberies of FedEx, UPS Trucks in DC Area – NBC Washington

The FBI is investigating a string of armed carjackings and robberies of FedEx and UPS trucks in D.C. and Prince George’s County, Maryland, over the past 10 days.

The FBI is looking for two people believed responsible for two carjackings and three armed robberies between Nov. 10 and Nov. 17.

D.C. police told News4 in one case the thieves told the delivery driver they were looking for the popular Sony PlayStation 5.

UPS Driver Robbed After Being Kidnapped At Gun Point, Duct Taped – KXL

Friday evening Portland Police say they were called out to the 4700 block of northeast 106th Avenue on reports of a UPS driver being kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint.

According to Portland Police, “The UPS Driver had been delivering packages and was outside of his truck when four black male suspects confronted him. One suspect pointed a pistol at the driver demanding he give them his delivery truck. The other suspects duct-taped the UPS driver’s wrists and forced him into their Honda with them.”

Portland Police explained, “One suspect drove the UPS truck while the Honda followed. A short distance later, they stopped and the suspects stole packages from the UPS truck.”
