We get straight time plus holiday pay here.

Folks in New England are paid for Columbus and Veterans Days.

Then I have a feeling I will be getting just straight time. BS.

I never volunteer to work on Black Friday. If the company is paying me to stay home, who am I to argue? However, today I asked what would happen if I decided to show up on Friday, and if I could send a buddy of mine home that is being forced to work. He was a FT driver for 15+ years, and took an Art 22 job. He hates working Black Friday, so that's why I posed the question. What I was told was that he has to work, and I couldn't come in to cover him. Reason being is that ANY rookie FT driver that has to work would get first crack at going home before him, and that it was a can of worms they didn't want to open. So no, I won't be working Friday as usual, and my hypothetical question was answered. I wont miss the 3-4 hours of double time with all the OT I got this week already.
