Obamacare

In a Rose Garden press conference, President Obama said that Obamacare "has never been a government takeover of health care." Of course not. The 20,000 pages of regulations are just to prop up the short leg of the couch.

And, ironically (or not, depending on your preference), the ACA will limit some of those rate increases.
It is causing them. Some insurance companies have already said that they will have to raise rates because they are getting even more sick people added to their rolls. Well duh! It is because of Obamacare that people that are in such terrible shape are being added.

When my hubby got his letter about rising rates, it said that because of ACA rates were being raised.....thank goodness he turned 65 the very next week.

My best friend had his raised too. The HR rep where he works had to come in and announce it to his whole shift (kinda like a PCM) and said it was because of the ACA. He said that even though it sucked it was still priceless seeing all of the democrats on his shift immediately have a deer in headlights look.

Before the ACA no employer ever announced that health insurance was going up. Nice try.

Here's an interesting graphic...

So, is it just a coincidence that premium increases spiked after obamacare? The short answer is no because even the CBO noted premiums for some policies would immediately jump by ~11% to 13%.

The only reason why the increases have been less dramatic lately is the Taxpayers and currently insured are bailing out the health insurers through the law's "risk corridors" and "risk adjustment payments" for participating in the program...

"Several insurers released estimates in SEC filings of how much in reinsurance funds they expected to receive for 2014.

Of the major payers, Anthem is receiving the biggest payout of more than $667 million. Still, its estimate was $753 million. Humana was expecting $586 million and will receive $549 million. Aetna is in line to receive $356 million from the premium stabilization program, including payments to Coventry and other subsidiaries, which surpasses its estimate of $338 million."

Once these programs expire, premiums will skyrocket and millions more will, once again, be without insurance - or worse - they'll be added to the nearly 30 million who, currently, are insurance poor and can't afford to be treated for what ails them - even though they have insurance.

One reason they spiked is because the junk policies many had as a false sense of security were scrapped for policies that actually provide minimal coverage.

That's funny. What I have posted is easily verified. Why would you challenge such a fact?
