They did that here sometimes and the drivers working as helpers got normal driver pay but only worked actual hours (less than 8).

While it would be better if the 3 routes were left in at least they are using the drivers as helpers rather than using helpers and laying off the drivers. Are the drivers getting their regular pay rate or helper pay?

Around here things are going well. They hired enough temps and dispatch has been regular. Now lets see how the plan works the next few weeks when volume spikes. If its anything like the last 27 years is becomes a total clusterfck pretty quick.

Yes, they get regular pay. I did that in my early days, loved it, wish I could do that know. No stress. Also got the 8 hr guaranteed. Also went out from center and returned to center, nice gig if you can get it.

I normally don't ring bells after 7pm. They let me keep my helper all night but don't worry other drivers were done before 6PM so one came to get my pickup pieces.
