Any kind of theft is not tolerated at UPS. I fully expect LP to investigate this crime, and the supervisor will be escorted off UPS property for good.
This is what I heard: driver from M* was parked outside a library. He was inside delivering and a supe and manager were spying (also known as on-road observations). Mgr and supe jumped into package car looking for ammo since they strongly dislike the driver. They found no ammo, dvr filled out, park brake on, 4 ways on, truck secured, so the supe grabbed the driver's ipod from the dash and they took off. When the driver returned, he was quite upset to see that he had been robbed. He went back into the library to ask if they had surveillance cameras. He quite clearly saw the robbery and proceeded to call the police. Officer took report for petty larceny ( ipod value approx. $180) and suggested driver research how many dollars worth of downloads the ipod held because if the value of ipod and content added up to more than $1000, it would be grand larceny. Officer then headed to M* building to question the pillars of the community that UPS pays to run the joint.
Good post Scooby! You named it right on the head. The center was * and the building was M*. It was the center manager`s car and the sup from that center that were on the video. Both are still working.

I really dont think the line was crossed but will abide by Cheryls rules.
And for Tie - If the driver made false charges, he will be in a heap of crap for filing a false report. I think you really need to look outside the box. The police seen the center manager and supervisor on the video tape. Lets once again do the Tieguy twist and turn the blame on the driver. Maybe he provoked the center manager and sup? The bottom line is the guy is a thief and should not work for YOUR company. I say YOUR company because these type of actions make me sick to call this our company. Once again at UPS the golden rule "Do as I say, NOT as I do!"
804 I think my suggestion that the driver could also have made it up was thinking out of the box. I've seen a lot of strange stuff over the years and this is certainly would be one of them.
I'm first expected to believe the driver left a 180 dollar ipod out where it could be stolen.
Not sure what other drivers do.
But, I always left Ipod ($120), in the front, along with my Trivoli Ipal (fm/am speaker system $200.00), and most times even my cell phone.
Most drivers that have a radio device, I assume, would leave them upfront.
No time to hassle locking those items up at every stop.
oh yeah, along with my cigarettes and lighter, too.

I'm then expected to believe that a center manager who has the means to be a 1000 ipods stole it.
Its certainly possible
Its also possible that the driver made it up to get the manager off his back. Its also possible the driver lost it if he is stupid enough to leave it unsecured in a package car and or that someone else took it.
One thing though that is true is you listed the Managers center and building on the internet. That means everyone there now knows that the manager and sup have been accused of theft and probably everyone near m** as well.
You would not want an accusation against you being broadcast on the internet.
don't let your hatred for management change your vision of what is right and wrong.
