9.5 doesn’t work

The daily "per diem" for out of town travel is $75.00.

Authorized by the IBT Constitution, and every Local Unions Bylaws.

Following me around BrownCafe, like a little puppy....

Will only get you answers.

-Bug-
Many per diems, for many Locals and most certainly for IBT Officers, are significantly higher than $75a day.....and I'm good with it.

When you ask a man or woman to leave the comfort of their home, sleep in strange beds, away from their kitchen, I see a need for "adequate spending".

These choosen few, should not do without, or abuse the privilege.
This is how business is conducted, like it or not.
Why put our representatives at a disadvantage?

In the end, it's up to each Local's Secretary Treasurer to make sure spending is appropriate, and $75 a day is certainly "reasonable".

75 a day..... 5 bucks chIck fil a breakfast sandwich.

Reality: Breakfast buffet in the hotel lobby, $20 w/tip

10 bucks, a sub for lunch

Reality: Local sit down lunch spot within walking distance, $20-25 w/tip

10-15 bucks, pizza ect for dinner

Reality: Local steakhouse or popular dinner spot, $30-40 w/tip

50 bucks. Lap dances at the local strip spot!!!!

Reality: A few beers or drinks at the corner pub, golf course, or maybe even a casino (I wouldn't rule out a Strip Club), but on their own time and their own dime.

The math checks out!!
That math does not check out, and I hope you're just joking???

I don't know about you, but I don't eat the crap here?
Why should a Union representative be relegated to it on the road?

Additionally, in my Local at least, it's all done on a Union credit card, where the statement better match the receipts that are turned in.
Pretty sure charges and receipts turned in from The DollHouse Gentleman's Club would be rejected and subject to being reimbursed by the idiot who submitted them, as well as political suicide if the details were to leave the Hall.

Fastest way to get in trouble with the Union and the law is to screw around with the money.

I have been to State Panels, Regional JAC's, and even the National Panel; in cities like Columbus, Chicago, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Traverse City, Clearwater, and Washington DC.

Trust me, if you are subsisting on $75 a day in these venues, you aren't living "high on the hog".

Look...I'm all for beating on @BigUnionGuy when he's got it coming, but you two are way off base on this one.

I never asked about out of town spending. Perhaps I should not have engaged this guy, especially in this thread. But why is he free to say whatever he chooses? Doesn't really matter- nothing will ever change based on words typed on a screen on the internet. Sorry if you were offended, but he could climb down from his horse.

Surely you didn't expect a topic to stay on course? Anyway, you did post this...
Which restaurants....will you be spending dues money at this week?
Which led this brain surgeon to post this...

The banter was clever until this guy crawled out of his hole to add nothing but his usual union slamming posts which are reliably inaccurate.
To anyone interested in facts, every union credit card bill turned in by officers/agents must be backed by itemized receipts showing what was ordered. The receipts also need to include the five W's (kinda like a well written grievance, another thing I'd lay money our buddy has never done). These receipts are checked by the ST and many levels of auditors, and like every other expense is reported to the membership at the next meeting.
The IBT has guidelines establishing expenditure limits depending on the location of the meeting.

"In town" meals are rarely expensed, and then only if accompanied by some type of extraordinary event such as negotiations.

A casual lunch would be out of the agents pocket, so unless BUG is OOT, I'd wager no dues money was spent at any restaurant.

Pardon my boring response, please get back off topic.

I don't think What'dya really cares about bug's expenses I think this is the issue...

Perceived he was talked down to by bug.
And Face's post was in jest.
You're a great person in real life, I can tell by your postings but some on here get their egos stepped on and then it's a urinating contest. It never changes.

I call em how I read em. Some are constructive, some destructive. I've been both.

Some think they have to keep impressing others on here but the battle is fought in your building and local. Not on BC.

Social media is great but living it in real life without having to tell everyone how important we are is true strength. Conviction in your heart is better than a huge vocabulary and no works.

Just my opinion and tidbit for Mon night.
