A strike will be ugly

UPS is delusional.... if they think, they can replace an entire work force.

They can't man their operation right now.
They can't "man" their management positions without "promoting" the bottom feeders.
30-90 day wonders running preloads that don't even know what it means when there is a large H on the pkg label.

Ups is short sighted.they wont see a strike as a long term solution to break the union, they will only see the potential quarterly profits they would lose.

Too much speculation on the contract.unless u are on the negotiating committee or in tight with someone who is u don't know any specifics.all the updates are vague let's just wait and see the offer and make a decision then.

Would you rather have a great paying job and a less than perfect contract, or no job at all??
A strike will be long, ugly, and most likely a permanent separation between UPS and the Union. If you think that a profitable company of now $6B will not be willing to allow, or cannot survive a strike in order to get the changes that they want/need, then you are highly mistaken.
That 6 billion isn't in UPS's only pocket. It is spread out amongst the shareholders.

I agree with you with the timing of the (Transformation) and the current contract negotiations, it does bring up new questions of were we are going. Remember the company paid over and above their required annually retirement plan's contributions at the end of last year, a clear indication of an early buy out for non-union employees. Those non-union in operations need not worry, the support groups are targeted. Just too many high seniority, highly paid partners draining the pot. Corporate will use this contract to it's best advantage to justify saving costs with downsizing it's perceived non-productive business groups.

As expected the company's negotiation committees will play hard ball till the last, hoping to save a few cents here and there, they have nothing to lose..A strike is never on their agenda.

And a snitch driver?

I do see more thinning of the herd.

BD is the next most likely target. They can be easily outsourced.
Thin the herd. Gotcha.
One more USNY driver out of the pen soon (noted below).
