You are no longer an employee, a worker, or labor. You are now an ABSORBER

Absorb. to take in and make part of an existent whole.

In a down ecomomy with record job loss and money scarce, the corporations have made record profits, see the third quarter results, while creating little to few jobs.

How? you, or should i say absorbers.

the people who are left hanging on to their job, are forced to absorb the extra work form the people who are no longer employeed. when they cannot, they are quickly shown the "at-will employee" law by the company.

Call in the temps. we will give you work only if you can absorb. We promise nothing permenant, including insurance , and cannot offer anything more than a few months.

Fed Ex is a master of this, so is U.P.S.

now the republicans, Fred's pals, are blaming the unions, the ABSORBERS, and the poor for the problems in this country. We voted for the people wu believed would "do something" but we are still looking.

The worst part is now I may have to say "I make 30+ an hour, have health insurance, and a few dollars in the bank"

nobody wanted to listen when it counted.nobody wanted to listen when it was time to vote.

ABSORD. Do more in les time so fred can make more money while doing no work.

I'm sorry....what????

I get it. Employers expect more from current employees for the same low rate of pay. Instead of hiring, FedEx and UPS, among others, just expect us to "absorb" the additional business, which adds to their corporate coffers. We get the shaft. Sounds right to me.

amazing how you grasp the problem quickly, while everybody else votes republican.

Mr. 7

The monkey on the left.
I don't do any more than my 195 numbers (which I think is fair).
If I go out with more than ~5 stops over my 195 numbers guess what? I'll make damn sure I take my 1 hr. lunch, all 3 of my 28s, drop, then go back out. Heck I need the O.T.

Absorb my asss.

What amazes me is that many of my co-workers are Republican. In other words, they support their oppressors. Palin/Beck in 2012!!! "you betcha don't you know it the Commies are coming and our President is from Kenya and I can see Iraq from my front yard you betcha".

History is full of examples of the rich and powerful exploiting the poor and weak, eventually resulting in violent backlashes. And in the last 100 years or so there are quite a few examples of Marxism/Socialism being implemented, resulting in widespread violence and misery for millions. Whether you're a greedy capitalist or an idealistic socialist, you aren't going to do much for the common guy based on past history. The difference is that poor people don't employ others, rich people do. I might resent the exploitation, but I've got to go where the work is. And when the time comes through sacrifice and saving put myself in a position where I don't have to work for the rich guy anymore. Not what some want to hear, but that's the reality as I see it. Social justice schemes don't work.

Barack Obama is a socialist. We were pretty sure this was the case after he made his remarks about how bitter people in small towns cling to religion.

very similar to Karl Marx’ line about religion being the opiate of the masses, if not as eloquent as the original German “Die Religion"

At least the majority can see what Obama is now and have already taken action. The Dems got decimated in the last election and this is just a taste of whats to come in 2012.

You are insane if you think Obama is a Socialist. I suppose you think he's Muslim, not American-born etc. also? I smell tea.

I don't think he is.I know he is and so does the rest of the country now.Look at his approval ratings.Hes beginning to make Bush look like a great president.

Sure he is. And he's a Muslim, and a Commie, and wasn't born in the USA, so he shouldn't be President. His most recent approval rating was 50%, which is far higher than Bush post 9-11, and I'm guessing the "rest of the country" is everyone who listens to Rush and Beck, goes to church every Sunday, reveres Sarah Palin, and is a "real" American. No brown people need apply. I've really missed you.

Why are you obfuscating? Forget the tea and smell the coffee. How can Obama's healthcare plan be considered anything but a socialist program? What did he tell Joe the plumber? "We've got to spread the wealth around." Is being a socialist entirely bad? I like Social Security. I can understand the anger and frustration with capitalism. But he attempted to completely rework American society and he would have ended up destroying the economy. Cap-and-trade is a wealth redistribution program that would've resulted in $7 a gallon gas according to Harvard U. And that would've insured no raises at FedEx if FedEx survived. You aren't blindly partisan are you?
