What's a bid air driver ?

It depends. A 22.3 air combo driver or an article 40 air driver? An article 40 air driver can be full time part time or air exception which is in excess to his part time job. It depends.

Air exception drivers are part time where 22.3 are full-time.

here mgmt calls FT 22.3 combos that do not bid routes, exception air drivers. If there is no air work you are paid the higher rate for the shifts.

It depends on the operation. Some barns have few 22.3 employees while others have hundreds. It's a big world out the friend.

2/3 of my buildings Midnight/Preload are Art 22.3 employees. The question was how many 22.3's have driving positions along with their other duties. My building has less then a dozen 22.3 AM or PM combo air drivers.

Never saw a FT air driver. All of ours are either combo (22.3) or PT (EAM's or PM pick ups). I do agree they all work under Art 40.

You have 22.3 bidding on package car routes and feeder runs.

Saturday Air drivers have been eliminated at my building. They are only using a few air drivers just for EAMs and air help.
