Traveling today and wondering if anyone has a route in a major airport and if so what all that entails?

Yes . Just be careful when driving your tractor down the runway . Always check rearviews for incoming planes . Other than that , it's smooth sailing .

The airports I am in today don't seem quite that simple. I have delivered the smaller airport in my town like that though.

Airport route here requires a yearly background check, fingerprints, etc., you get an airport badge/ID that lets you access secured areas without an escort. Feeder drivers that go to the airport as part of their scheduled run get the same thing.

Cavity search when you arrive, and again when you leave. No big deal really

I have to pay extra for it but it’s worth every penny.

SIDA badges are good for two years. not sure if they do a back ground check at renewal but you have to take the test again and finger prints.

You'd never know by looking at them, but they're under cover TSA. Well, at least that's what they said.

Anyone here deliver to Hartsfield-Jackson? I always think about this when I fly out of there.

You only have to get the background check and prints every two years, but you have to take the test for renewal every year. That's how it works here anyway.

The guy who drives the airport here (we have a smaller international airport) puts everything at the dock, makes a phone call to each company, then leaves. The security watches it for 10 minutes or so until all the companies come down and grab their own things.

I know Mark, the driver. He has to make two trips, he drives a couple of 1200's. He has been on that route for years, he seems to like it. You have to know exactly where you can go. He does drive on the ramp to get to some buildings.

Is his whole day spent in the airport then,or does he have other work on the car also?

Being how huge the airport is, I don’t see how it’s possible for him to have other work. But it is UPS lol. I’m sure they receive a ton of NDA too

First time I saw it I almost woke my family from laughing so hard. Glad other people get the reference!
