I’ve been here 3 years I talked with the steward and he also wondered why there was not a bid for the job. So no my name was never on the preferred job list because it Never happened

It sounds like neither of you knew, there should be a preferred job list.

Now that you do know.... it's time to talk with management and file a grievance.

Spoke with my shop steward today about filing grievance over a new persons getting more hours and clerk position. Steward said I should have been offer the “preferred position” and I should file grievance over the hours. Went to super Dan and mentioned once more “hey I’m good to go to do clerk work” only this time instead of saying “ups doesn’t like to give such positions to students” he flat out says no and his boss told him there are no positions on the local sort that constitute seniority fulfillment and he already has the people trained on the position

What do you think the odds of me winning this grievance are?

Yeah my supervisor is ill informed, each question I ask takes a day at least for an answer to allow time for him to find what he is allowed to do.

I knew there should be but I wasn’t aware of the the position being open.

I don't like to complain but bro sometimes it's exhausting. Chasing around these man-children all day is a full time job but its what I signed up for I guess.

Maybe you can get on a sleeper team. Then you can moderate in the bunk. Or whatever else.

I tried it once but haven't found a good bunkmate yet. I get very gassy after I eat so I need to find someone who isn't so sensitive to man musk.
