Texas is kind of strange. Its supposed to be the wild west. If you take the course, you can carry either concealed or open, but it has to be in a holster on your hip or shoulder. It cannot be in your vehicle in the open. You can also carry a long rifle around in the open at any time.

There were 10 people in my class. 8 men and 2 women. 2 people failed the class. guess which 2? 1 of the women passed the classroom part (5.5 hours) but when it came time to go to the range, she kept trying to load the rounds in her magazine backwards. The instructor sent her home. lol

Did they change the law where if you qualified with a revolver you couldn't carry a semi auto pistol?

Used to if you qualified with a semi auto, you could carry either a semi or a revolver. If you qualified with a revolver, that was all you could carry. They changed that 2 years ago. Now you could qualify with either and carry either. All 10 people in class used semi autos.
