No. I don't do the United Way events. I give to another charity that I believe is more worthy.

I had a good friend who was very much against United Way. He went into management and it was funny to watch him change and be forced to follow the company line of supporting United Way.

I give to Hole in the Wall Camp. It's a summer camp for kids with disabilities. Wonderful place started by Paul Newman.

The whole United Way claim of being able to direct your contributions is bogus. It is a matter of in one pocket and out the other accounting games.
I prefer to donate directly to charities I support.
