Drivers license place doesn't send out notices anymore. Wife license expired a couple months ago, and didn't know it, because she got no card in the mail.

Wow! Not even an email? I'm glad my state still sends them out. I got mine last month.

Probably saving 100k a year or so.

Wife was a little hysterical last night when I told her that it was expired. What if I need to take the test again? what if.....? She went there this morning and out in 10 minutes, no problems with it being expired. Probably expecting a few expired, think they are giving a year grace period, without going through any extra hoops.

True, but when you are used to getting a card before the expiration date, then you wait for that. They still do that for the car registrations.

Ours quit sending plate reminders last summer during a budget impasse. People lost their .

That is a little easier to remember, quite honestly, have to renew every year, on your bday month. DL is, maybe every4 or 5 years, lot harder to keep track of
