You can certify on a simulator?

Hell, why not just do it on xBox?
It's full motion. Legitimately forget that you're in a sim some times, it is that good.

Your initial and recurrent training is all done in a sim. It's much cheaper and you don't die if you screw up. In the airline world you fly with a training captain for a month after you pass your sim training for extra safety. I would have to do that if I intended to fly jets with passengers, but I'm mostly doing this because it's been a while since I was in a jet sim and think it will be fun.

Just busting your butt, sonny.

Does sound fun. Can I come along?

That doesn't sound like fun.
Flying jets is kind of boring except take off and landing. Punch the route into the FMS, take off turn the autopilot on and don't touch it again until you're a few miles from the runway on final approach.

That's why I like the sims. Have a little fun. A former flight instructor of mine is a First Officer for Delta on the 747 and he had an extra hour in the sim paid for and they failed 3 of his engines 20 miles from the runway just to see if he could make it.
