You ever use one of those toothpicks to thread your way into brush like that?

I have a 12 foot rod. Most of the time I'm tall Enough and have long enough arms I can go right over the top or go right to the middle of stuff. But it's cooler to get in the middle of it. Until I see a big :censored2: snake and start swinging the rod at it.

basically it is a small straight piece of a coat hanger that you hammer both ends flat, drill a small hole and attach your line at the top and your hook at the bottom. You can really drop it straight down in some brush and roots. and if you use shiners, they cant wrap you around something.

I used to use about a 10-12 foot crappie rod with a small reel built into the base, and the line threads through the inside of the rod and goes out the tip. You just let out enough line you need to "dab" as we call it down here

No sir. Never used one. I might have to try that. I'm gonna be buying some new crappie Rods here shortly. Might have to try that

Been using my 12 foot ultra light fishing less that a foot deep. 1/32 to 1/16 oz chartreuse jig head and tube. Depending on the day. Used chartreuse head and black and chartreuse tube most of the day today

I cant remember the brand crappie rod I used to use. They are telescopic. I think the 10' was 2 piece and the 12' was a 3 piece. I believe I bought them at WM.

I had a 10 foot Bass Pro Wally Marshall series rod for a long time. Splintered it one day. Now Marshall does his own thing. Wish I still had it. That thing was awesome. Might give Ozark Rods a try.
