The fake granite is a lot better. Sealed so doesn't stain and looks similar.

I have a big piece of granite that was salvaged from an old library being remodeled I use as a dresser top and it stains way too easily.

Oops. My bad. Its marble, not granite but is similar.

Natural quartz comes in a lot of different colors. Some semi precious stones are just colored quartz.

Yes and no. The farther you get from white the more resin that is added.

I did for a couple of years when I was a kid. There wasn't enough base housing available so my father bought one for us to live in until we could get something better. We fixed it up and ended up making money on it when we sold it.
