I'll let you in on a little secret---we have no "reserve currency" --all we have is print more money.
no you export US dollars and you get actual goods in exchange. its unlike any other country because u r still the worlds reserve currency.

So you think businesses will just sit there and take it? They will raise prices, reorganize, especially small businesses near the 50 employee mark.
business dont automatically raise prices when costs go up. they can choose.

your current system is bad for business.

As a business owner I would like a single payer (government) option. Currently our insurance plan has us covering about 80% of the premium for a single employee and just over 50% for a family plan. We offer a 10% pay bonus for anyone that does not take the insurance. Our premium commitment is about $5500 per family plan and $7500 per single plan. The most frustrating part is the constant searching for improved plans. The story doesn't address what the employers burden would be. IMO taking the constant searching away from the employer and just boosting the employees wages to the levels I described would be a god sent.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

You’ll be going out of business when you start paying the taxes to fund the illegals. Good luck.

The article didn't say anything about the employers tax burden. I'm not sure how illegals would benefit from this program either. The article refers to employees who have state taxes taken from payroll would be enrolled.

It’s universal healthcare, that means everyone.

america is a unique system i think because of its reserve currency. michael hudson dives into it. i think he said other rich countries fund your wars but i forget exactly how.

deficits. voting on spending. taxation. printing money.

the idea of what i was saying is if cost of doing business is cheap, then industry can compete against other countries. but if your cost of doing business is high bc of high housing, high college costs, high healthcare costs, high transit costs, then you wont be able to compete. this is how america originally developed and many other countries. now your economics schools practice junk economics. its propaganda.
The Dollar is the world reserve currency because of the Breton Woods Agreement signed onto by 44 allied countries in 1944. And we maintain that by selling bonds to nations who are repaided in Dollars. Other things are dealt in Dollars also, particularly oil. There are supposedly more Dollars held outside of the U.S. than inside it.

OOPS! No so fast socialists. Newsom walking away from his dream of free stuff utopia. The good news is illegals will enjoy great healthcare, free of charge, paid for by hard working taxpayers of the state.

Might be time to stop federal Obamacare subsidies that is funneled to illegals. That should be entirely on the states.

I believe the first governor of California to introduce single payer healthcare was Republican Pete Wilson. I believe he ran on the prospects and got it on a ballot in 1994.

We are already a single payer system. Businesses are strong-armed to use one provider for all insurances in order to maintain discounts. Moreover forced to sign long term coverage agreements to "lock in" savings. The system is broken and crooked. Insurance companies conspire to price fix and limit choices.

"Any person in The United States who requires medical attention and cannot provide for himself should have it provided for him." A quote from Ronald Reagan at the Republican National Convention. Reagan was a solid supporter of coverage for all.

Reagan was a supporter of if a person shows up at an emergency room with a medical emergency he shouldn't be denied treatment if he can't pay. That's been the standard in this country for a very long time. But a long way from universal health care.

That is a lot different from people with no insurance flooding emergency rooms when there is no emergency
