Last contract there were lay offs. I worked at my local Taco Bell for 6 months.

The next contract will force a 37% increase in stops per car and a 26.6% decrease in wages for everyone.
The future of UPS is at stake with this contract.
If the Teamsters don't cooperate UPS will run out of money in 3 years and fold up like a cheap Walmart tent

The ability for the contract to cause lay-offs would probably be if there is a strike and we lose business but lay-offs could happen at any time if the economy turns. I wouldn't worry about it too much but I would make sure you have a strike fund and I wouldn't be buying any new toys or big houses until you see how things pan out in August.
