Fired for (dishonesty) stealing time

But an argument can be made to go strictly by the rules…on both sides.

Crystal clear can be made murky by allowing things to happen that shouldn’t. Where do you draw the line? For all we know, that manager may have known what was going all along, but when it’s brought to his attention by a 3rd party, it’s out of his hands and now the hammer comes down.

It’s often advantageous to have a management team that strictly follows the rules. It keeps everything in the open and there are no surprises such as this.
That can blow right up in your face by bargaining unit employees doing the same thing
No name tag that’s a grievance
Part time supe usually sets up the sort. Grievance
You see where this could go
But you be you

Why would someone clock back in from lunch then play on your phone, make a phone call or check emails for 20 minutes on the clock. Why wouldn’t you sit and eat for 40 mins then walk back the truck and do all those things for 20 mins to get your hour lunch in.

He who laughs last didn't get it.
You’re allowed 2 10 minute paid breaks in addition to a 30 minute unpaid .
We are required to at least take a 30 minute lunch but it’s rarely enforced.
If I have a light day or feel good, usually just take my 2 10 min breaks it 1 20 min. That’s enough sometimes

It's a vicious cycle
You didn’t understand that you can’t clock in from lunch early, and sit there doing lunch-time things while getting paid? Riiiight
making 10 minute phone calls isn't lunch stuff, only mastication and deglutition count as lunch obviously. pardon me while I browse several porn subreddits while clocked in; I need to make sure UPS gets their money's worth.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

They pulled telematics on me and accused me of stealing time. When I would go to lunch I would sometime clock back 10-20 minutes before going back to work. Most of them times, in that 10-20 min span, I would either be using the rest room or using the phone. They terminated me Friday for dishonesty. I have to meet with our UPsers team union leader on next Friday along with our district manger to explain my reasonings to why I was stealing time and they will decide if I get my job back. Has anyone ever had this problem. I’ve never been warned and I have had no other issues in the past 9 months. Will I get my job back?? Thanks
Wow , you’re dumb as hell

The times of them going “we understand people make mistakes we just felt like proving a point here’s your job back”is over. They don’t need us anymore. They have 22.4’s and now semi/permanent PVDs at their disposal.

60 months and counting
Yes understandable. The one thing I told out center manager when he terminated me was that I honestly do love my job. I told him I had no intentions of being “dishonest” or “stealing time”. I’ve been driving for almost 2 years now and have a perfect attendance record and have really no previous write ups accept a little safety related issue in my first couple months of driving. I have always gotten along with management and all my fellow upsers. The guy that terminated then turned around and said get with your union leader and he then said there should be no problem getting your job back, so that fives me a little confidence..
Same old song and dance….get with you Union “leader”..?? Lmao ok dude… and btw.. you can go to the bathroom on company time if they tell you otherwise it’s bs…just punch out for a 1/2 lunch hour everyday and do your phone calls then… when you get your job back stop running and doing them favors … use this as a lesson that a corporation doesn’t care about you or me..
