Founders Day. Something's up besides doughnuts

Paying workers more per hour in areas where the cost of living is higher sounds fair and reasonable, until you realize that their cost of living is higher by choice. The people (taken as a whole) in the high-cost areas repeatedly voted for Big Spending Liberals. It is years of their expensive policies that have driven up the cost of living disproportionally in those Democratic Party strongholds. Paying those voters higher wages would amount to the rest of us subsidizing Liberalism, Socialism, Progressivism, Big Government-ism. I do feel sorry for the minority of small-Government folks in those areas though.

As to Founder's Day, UPS is planning a huge table of eddibles at each location. There will be eggs of every kind. Scrambled, poached, hard boiled, sunny side up, you name it. All you can eat. Bring the whole family.

Sal Minella will be there to liven things up.

I was wondering how the food warehouses got rid of all those tainted eggs.....

Supply and demand determines housing prices. Saying politics controls housing prices in a speciific area makes as much sense as saying hot dogs cost more at the Baseball park due to religion.

Housing prices are determined largely by the availability of income. Low income areas have low housing prices. High income areas have high housing prices.

I know, they all shrunk !! There's a 'shrinkage' problem with the ice cream!!

It all started years ago when they took those huge boxes of powdered laundry detergent and made them smaller and said they were more concentrated. We still used the same amount. It's crazy marketing.....crazy like a fox!

I've spent a lot of time in the North Country of NY between Plattsburgh and Malone. You DO freeze in the winter!

When I was stationed here in 1982-83 my job was to put gas on airplanes. They would stop flying at -70F windchill. We were out there one night when it was -68F windchill. Layers, baby, layers.

In the summer you had your own private beach on Lake Champlain. Gotta take the bad with the good.
