Another one of my "poor" play on words.
‘hoity toity' is the real phrase.

"showed" roughly means "taught"
and
"haughty" is an adjective meaning "disdainful of another from a position of superiority" or something like that.

That's term is not just a southern thing. We use it way out here to. I only use it when I'm half serious. If I'm really serious it's maroon.

Yah jumped $.15 here yesterday now it is $1.59 a gallon.

$1.59gal at 2 stations in NW Jensen Beach. $1.72gal in N. Stuart Florida. This was yesterday. The gas station with the $1.72gal price had gone up from $1.64gal that same day.

My boy called from Florida & he said gas was $1.49 at all outlets on the road he drives everyday. It didn't matter if it was Hess, Speedway, Walmart, or an independant from the Middle East. Over 10 places with same price, sounds like a conspiracy to me!

He's right, that's the way it was till yesterday. Today, the gas price I quoted in Jensen Beach was $1.59gal and is now $1.79gal, .20¢ a gal in less than 24hrs is quite a bit; Wonder what's going on.
