An Omaha police squad car collided with a FedEx Monday near 16th and Leavenworth Streets. Police said the driver of the van was headed east on Leavenworth just after 3:30 p.m. Police said he ran a red light and was struck by the squad car, which was headed south on 16th Street. The impact caused the van to topple over onto its side. The driver of the van, Andrew J. Hamers, 23, was uninjured. Officer Jeff Kilgore, an 8-year veteran of the force, was taken by ambulance to the Nebraska Medical Center, where he was treated for minor injuries. Police said he was burned by his car's air bag when it deployed.

It's more like we've become Airborne Express.

And Fedex is going to end up just like them with this continual shift to non-career employees.

Keep taking away benefits and making life miserable for your workers and this is the big PR sh** sandwich Fred can increasingly be fed.

I'm sure DRA is the answer...

Seems you're a natural.

Nope, I'm trying to prevent it. Having never worked at Express, you don't really have a valid point of reference from which to pass judgement. We've still got aways to go until we hit rock bottom, which is Ground territory.

Maybe. We will see...but then why try to warn UPS that Ground has them in their sights? Shouldn't have anything to worry about.

They might not if the media keeps shining the spotlight on how goofy and unmanageable FedEx Ground actually is....

If UPS uses their lobbying powers and advertising dollars to highlight the ridiculous structure FedEx has created, basically creating indentured servitude for profit, then they may well be able to crush FedEx corp.

FedEx employees sure wont be running to the media saying how great it is, most of us would just slam the company....

If UPS however tried using its powers to fight the union, then all that wasted energy and money will be incentive for Smith to move in for the kill....

The next few years sure will be critical.
I hope UPS takes the moral high road vs the Slash and Burn policy that Fedex corp has taken towards their employees.
FedEx is continuing to crush the lives of its employees, UPS can win the hearts, minds, and money of America if it plays its cards right...

bbsam...What do you tell your drivers when they ask why they aren't making 80 grand a year and have no medical benefits or retirement for doing the same job as an UPS driver. You know.. Since you worked at UPS for 8 years.
