How bad

I'm in a rental on a rural route and had a guy open the door a couple weeks ago with a gun next to the door. After realizing it was me, I saw his arm move away. That makes the 4th time in under 10 years of dealing with customers and guns. Having a rental really helps when the weather is bad, but yeah I worry about getting shot by some trigger happy farmer one day.
What about us trigger happy hillbillies? Lol.

We have a swarm of PVDs running around like cockroaches. Some RPCD/22.4s aren't even getting 8 hours.

Deplorable.
This is my first peak season that I'm scrounging for overtime lol. All 4 days this week I've picked up the neighboring route's UPS store just so I could hit the 8 hours on road.

No way it continues but I'll gladly take an easy week to start peak.

Its definitely not light here... my route is chopped down a lot even from what it was during the heaviest covid surge we had late spring into early summer. Many pvds out there... i think they had a goal of atleast 2 per driver. I have no meets... no helper... and most importantly... no hassles.

It’s clear that the Teamsters underestimated the use of PVD’s by UPS. Should have specific language covering their use like there is with 22.4’s.

In San Jose they are paid $38.74 an hour plus 54¢ a mile plus $5 a day for using their phone. On average these guys are making $45 an hour. All the while guys are begging for work.

Regardless of rather or not guys should live within their means or that guys deserve this for bitching about 9.5 all year, it really isn’t right nor should the union of ever let this happen with so little oversight.

I’m right at 50 hours for the week so far with tomorrow to go. No helper, no PVDs. They only send the PVDs to the guys with helpers since drivers with helpers are required to be in by 9.5

if your using a helper and want more hours tell them you don’t want a helper due to covid.

a large chunk of my center is barely getting 8 hours daily. It’s the army of seasonals and PVDS fault.

we are back to normal start times next week with airs on time. Should be interesting.

8 hrs are guaranteed paid worked or not, I'm happy to be home by 6 this time of year.

Come January 15th there will be more than enough overtime for all who want it.

And they’re probably getting off 10 stops an hour before they got to go back and refill their Subaru

I've never seen so many PVDs in my life. I was getting gas at a Wawa and saw a guy sitting in a Chevy Tahoe filled with packages from my center. Never seen him before and probably won't after January 15th.

We have entire rentals going out filled with PVD volume. It's almost as if we have a sub-center that's processing, loading and shipping out PVD volume to various counties. If you didn't visit that part of the building you'd never know they were there.

And they want more PVDs! Now they are recruiting hub employees. Thought we had enough. But pretty soon we'll have more PVDs than actual drivers.

We need language dealing with seasonals! Pvds should never have been allowed by the union, but the least they could do is limit the impact of them.
