I'm wondering why a 14 year old is out in the streets at 2:30 am. Or a 16 year old for that matter. Don't they have a curfew?

Just spitballing here, but the chances of these two kids having a single parent home is pretty huge. Plus this is South Chicago, so the money is tight and the parent is working a lot of hours trying to make ends meet. I'm sure the kids just snuck out while the parent was getting in their 4-6 hours (if lucky) of sleep to get up and go work their 2 or 3 jobs the next day after getting the kids ready for school and stuff.
