Bomb threats, no matter how casually made, are to be taken seriously.

No one has ever blown up a ups facility and I'd go to work tomorrow with whoever said it before I snitched someone to ups management

I would also go to work the next day; however, that person would no longer work there.

So, earlier this month I found myself in a questionable and possibly dangerous situation. I'm sure this happens frequently at UPS, but a coworker made a statement in my presence that scared the crap out of me. This was right before San Francisco happened. I reported his threat to a PT sup who escalated it up the line. This particular coworker was terminated and hauled off to jail.

I was rather shocked to check my payroll and see I had a check issued to me labeled LP Award. I assume since it has not hit my bank account that this in fact a paper check. I don't want to ask my FT sup about it. He was friends with the guy that was terminated and while I have not as yet experienced much backlash from management at the local level, the PT sup who escalated the issue caught holy hell. In defense of the FT sup it should be noted that the chain of command was not properly followed in his eyes. I'm pretty sure security issues follow different protocol however.

So, my question is what type of check is this and how long does it take to receive it? If it's a paper check will it have to come through my sup or will it be mailed to my house?

I apologize to the cat lady and anyone else I offended. I didn't join this forum to insult people.I wanted to help with my 35 years of ups experience and with my union experience. I just hate to see someone lose a job and get a criminal record for something I bet was just said out of frustration. I could be wrong though

And most rational People can tell but then you get people like crazy cat lady who think everything is truth and goes around opening their mouths to benefit them more by trying to be a awesome worker and in the meantime they are leaving a trail of people who have lost their jobs for no reason because of a suck up tattle tale

I don't disagree that in some instances this the case but we have no idea the background on this post. Unfortunately in today's world this type of threat is becoming a reality far too often.

i work with a guy that wishes our hub would either burn down or something bad would happen to the building.
he milks it everyday though so i cant really take it seriously. im more scared of the guy thats always on managements side
they are the ones most likely to explode when they get fired. i personally stay quiet unless its someone i know is cool specially with
how sensitive ppl are now a days.

Go to work, be kind, do what you're told, do it well. Won't have a problem. But people are easily triggered these days. Even if you're on somebody's good side, always think about an escape plan just in case something does happen..

I've also gone to management about someone making a "joke" about shooting up the hardware store I worked at. It gave me a weird vibe. She was walked out of the building in front of everyone, and even though I told it anonymously she knew it was me. What happened next? About 2 months later I was walked out of the store in front of everyone and suspended because I said I would protect myself with my pocket knife if this bitch of a coworker (different girl) and her boyfriend cornered me again. I got the same treatment the other woman did. Was not fun and I quit that job. He's definitely angry at you.

You need to talk to your sup about the check though. If you can't talk to him (the dude's friend) talk to a higher up or another sup.
