Oh I get that part.

But....

I'm not going to lose my peace of mind in the truck while sups are sitting in the air conditioning eating pizza and using actual bathrooms.

go ahead and play tuff guy now

see how tuff you are when the boss has you on camera 20 minutes off area

If caught this is a battle you wonā€™t win

Today I drove 20 minutes to a neighbor because I ā€œforgot to grab more info notices for all the closed businessesā€
I had plenty of info notices
When I got back on route I did 5 stops then took lunch
Then sorted for 20 minutes after lunch
Took my 10 minute break less than two hours later
Took a second lunch at 7 pm cause I was hungry
Aaaaand presto: a 9 hour plan turns into an 11.5 day and I still put in a good honest hard days work
Chilllllllllll
Sort the truck so that itā€™s absolutely perfect
Walk everything off thatā€™s not heavy (Iā€™ll back right up to every garage if I can with an over 70, some
might not like that but idgaf Iā€™m protecting my body)
Donā€™t allow the stop count or full truck to stress you out and run around like a rabbit
YOU are in control
I repeat
YOU ARE IN CONTROL of what happens out there
You forgot. File!

It was my turn to get screwed with the most stops in my Center today. The driver next to me had a lot of closed businesses and he came got about 50 off me on his own. I'm going to make the call and start the pension paperwork Monday. I'm really looking forward to retiring now, I might even go sooner.
Donā€™t let them push you out, thatā€™s what they want. But you put your time in. Do your thang brother.

Pleasantdale Hub lost power and rolled 31 trailers Monday, its a total cluster. Forest Park had been doing well until Thursday, we haven't got out of the building until 10:00. I haven't seen my supervisor all week, he probably got loaned out to another building. I have been doing Peak stop numbers without a Helper and making better time.
Probably went to Connecticut, least ours did.

You donā€™t need InfoNotices for closed holiday so your reason for going off area wonā€™t fly, nor will the 20 minutes to sort the load just pray they donā€™t look too closely at your day because those two things are indefensible.
You are in control out there and when you do dumb stuff like that youā€™ll be held accountable.

Youā€™d still need them for residential send-again/access points

Judge me.
He specified businesses and by saying he needed more I understand to mean he had some.

I understood it as he already had plenty of infonotices, and decided to drive 20 mins to the nearest driver, to get more.

True, if questioned then heā€™d have dug his own grave by saying that. However if heā€™d have told the manager he needed to grab InfoNotices from his neighbor to use for his resis, then driving 20 minutes off route wouldnā€™t be so ā€œindefensibleā€.

The problem isnā€™t not having enough InfoNotices itā€™s making a management decision to go off area 20 minutes instead of messaging the center and make them decide what to do about it.

Youā€™re 100% right on the last part. Iā€™m not saying thatā€™s something I would do. But if I were in a position where I was being questioned for doing so, Iā€™d tell them I forgot to grab some notices that morning. They seem really concerned about InfoNotice compliance these days.

Worst case, youā€™d be looking at a warning letter for not doing your pre-trip instead of fired for stealing time.

Eh, I've had loads requiring 20 minutes to sort. I have a little break between pickups that are too far off my delivery area to be able to do anything besides sort my car. Even if I go to the next pick up early, I'd still have to wait for them to finish shipping.
