Why do Americans spend 30k-40k on subpar cruiser motorcycles when they could go buy a top of the line v4 super bike for 20k? Hell they even spend 20k on cruisers, when they could get so much more for the price in terms of pure performance.

Price wise they are not, combustible engines are being slowly regulated out of existence while EV is being subsidized. It isn’t about doctors and top of the line models, it’s about getting it in everyone’s driveway and EV’s wouldn’t achieve that on their own in America.

Tesla can deliver a 300 mile range, totally unsubsidized, 4 door sedan with two trunks to any driveway in America for under 40k, and still make a profit. Their costs are that low. They charge more because they can.

They have the best margins in the auto industry because they are by far the most advanced manufacturer. Take away all subsidies of all kinds, and they can still beat the average new car price in America for a profit. And it's only going to get better.

Consumers can choose from any 30 to 50k car they want, and Teslas fly off the shelves. Nobody is doing that to them. Nobody is restricting their choices. Gas cars are better now than they have ever been, and they're still less desirable.
