Just start shooting. They will leave.

Ok folks, here’s what REALLY happened in Charlottesville – and what everyone is missing
- Allen West

But, how did we get to this place?

This all began because someone decided, as other elected officials have across the country, to cave in to partisan political pressures and seek to erase American history. History is not there for us to love or hate, but for us to learn from and seek to not repeat its mistakes.

If there are those who truly believe we protect ourselves by trying to revise history due to false emotions, then we miss out on who we are as a nation, and our evolution. The statues of long since deceased leaders of the Confederate Army do not stand to remind anyone of oppression. And if a statue can oppress you, then I submit that you have greater issues.

We can dislike these individuals, but they took proper measures to secure permission to express their First Amendment right.
If we want to condemn groups such as the neo-Nazis and others, then we must also condemn groups such as BLM and Antifa.

"It doesn't matter who says what. It will be construed, misconstrued, twisted, spun, misquoted, taken out of context, followed by non sequiturs, misnomered, lied about, and forged to fit whatever agenda each and every bovine sphincter has in play."
Of course, by both sides.
I thought all the lies about Obama were egregious.
I feel the same way about Trump.

How is removing a statue erasing history?

Beats me and goes to prove my belief that I don't believe anyone on first take.
Lying has become so common place in American politics, People don't even realize it.
So what's the big deal about removing them? I mean if whites don't want to be constantly reminded of slavery, maybe they shouldn't have memorials that constantly remind blacks of slavery. Its a two way street @Monkey Butt .

It's not made up. These folks went out there to be violent and bring attention to their "cause". That's what they did.
Now you are lying ... you have no idea what they planned/'went out there for'

Why can't people just stick to the facts without making crap up?

Who is to say that if the Antifa had not shown up?
I don't know, you don't know.
See that's telling the truth and sticking to facts.
I could sit here and type, "If Antifa had not shown up, the protesters would have listened to some speeches and prayed."

That's a lie ... nothing but conjecture.
I have enjoyed having fun here in Current Events but I've lost a lot of respect (Not @wkmac BTW) for people I respected before.
Now I think of them as weak-minded and jumping to conclusions without seeking the facts.

Listen gramps.
All you have to do is look at the affidavit released by Charlottesville chief of police prior to this rally. Look at the groups listed as participants, and google for two freaking minutes. Self-described "alt-right fight clubs" with implicitly stated motives of fighting on the streets against people who oppose them.

This wasn't just a group of people exercising their 2nd amendment rights. They brought riot gear. Stick your head back down in the sand if you want grandpa, but it doesn't change the facts.

Gee that means a lot coming from a self described troll.
A third rate troll btw, who only hangs out here because he isn't good enough at trolling to hang out with the big boys over on 4chan.
