Strike Fund

The Ohio Conference has a supplemental strike fund that kicks in a maximum extra benefit of $200 a week.
If I recall correctly they issued you a check for like 55 bucks then turned around and charged you something like 65 bucks to keep your insurance up to date. Something like that. Anyway you ended up in the hole.

That was over 25 years ago ... 65 bucks a week could provide good healthcare, now it is over 500 a week.

All teamcare participants, who do not cross a picket line in the event of a strike, will have their benefits paid.

25 years ago, the international union was completely broke. That is not the case now, currently we have a healthy strike fund. Hoffa gets lot of grief much of it deserved, but when it comes to our strike fund, he did a good job.

A lot of good posts in this thread! Also, what is going on with the one-year campaign? The last time I heard from the teamsters it was for the survey. What is their plan for December?
