How would you like me to explain this post to my 7 year old daughter, who happens to be reading this over my shoulder? Was it really necessary? I've seen more intelligent stuff, scrawled on bathroom stall walls. I just lost the last little bit of respect I had for you.

Do you have any idea how that lucky center is chosen?

The center is chosen based on Area, Size, and also if it's a test site for new package cars. Here at Chema we are an automotive test facility for some package cars.

Telematics does give us drivers the opportunuty to amuse oursleves with a little "collective action" if we chose to do so. If all drvers in a center agreed ahead of time, we could make a statement to our management team by leaving ALL of our bulkhead doors open for exactly 1/2 an hour between 1:00 and 1:30, or maybe spend 10 minutes at a prearranged time driving around an empty parking lot with the seat belt unbuckled. It would be the Telematics version of dropping our pants and mooning them. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Division Managers office when the center manager had to go in there with his center's Telematics printout in hand and "assume the position" while he faced the wrath of his superiors.

I would Love to see that hapen, Mngmt would be on the phone with auto so fast looking for an explanation!! LOL

How do you get off telling someone how and what their children should be doing. If you have any offspring I would not want YOU as MY FATHER. Obviously every parent is different but NO parent at ANY time should tell another PARENT how to handle or to what their children should be doing AT ALL. Leave your management crap at work and get a life.JMHO

By the way I have raised two kids myself and they have done very well for thierselves so that kind of makes me an expert. come see me in twenty years and we'll compare notes. To be honest if you were my kid I would have put you up for adoption.

In fact he described what you did and ignored the fact that you did it. In fact your post was a snipe where mine was a direct response to one directed at me. So in reality mine was a response to a previous post where yours was a snipe. So while he did not intend to call you a sniper his point actually described your actions. If you folks are going to try to take your swings at me at least try to pay attention to the game you're playing.

The intent of the system was never to keep the driver safe. If UPS cared about our safety, all of the older vehicles would be equipped with power steering and 3-point seat belts.

The intent of the system is to help management to document a case for the driver's eventual termination. It is idiotic to attach a sensor to a functionally worthless lap belt in the name of "safety."

If the truck is wired up to not run unless the seat belt is attached, it wont be possible to fire the driver for failing to wear it.

UPS isnt going to spend big money on a surveillance system unless it is guranteed to help them to terminate employees....preferably full-scale or pro-union ones....and replace them with new hires who are younger, healthier, and will be in progression for 2 years.

Right. Production is number one. New drivers will be in progression for 3 years now. If they cared about safety we would not be delivering 150lb packages out of a truck with no power steering, no shoulder belt and a high step. The safety preach is a joke.

Funny thing as I was reading this post my 9 year old was sitting next to me on the couch reading also. You said you have children then you should know that it only takes a few seconds for them to walk up and jump up behind you or sit down next to you to see what you are doing or looking at. Im sure that if he had thought that she would be exposed to those words he probably wouldnt be on this site when she was around or could see. Maybe his daughter already had done her homework and was tryin to spend what little time that she gets with her daddy as mine do. So maybe try to think about what you say so that it is not so negative. And for the rest lets try to keep it clean for us who are hanging with our little ones. Thank you

Fact is steve could have edited his response once he posted and saw I had edited the wording on mine. thats the funny thing about it. I edited my post so in a sense Steve is the one that posted that wording not me by quoting me. Now if he really found it too offensive for his daughter then he should not have quoted me and reposted those same words for her to see.
